![]() ![]() By contrast, the universe it inhabits is so rich, genuinely one of the best sci-fi settings I've ever encountered in a videogame. If you shoot your gun, then they can shoot guns. If you vault over low walls, they can too. The gameplay loop is so simple-enemy clones can only walk and melee, but will copy any action you do. All of the time leading up to it is slowly walking deeper into this abandoned labyrinth as it bit-by-bit springs to life, while the main character and her partner AI snipe at each other. It's almost an hour before you even reach the "game" proper. This game soaks the player in the world and Atmosphere. A sci-fi stealth game made by from Hitman devs, I maintain that it is an incredible triumph-not just of gameplay, but narratively too. I was prompted to make this thread because I was thinking of Echo today. ![]() ![]() These can be good or bad games: but all that matters is that you loved them (and why?). Destroyed companies or series completely because for whatever reason they didn't sell. I don't mean games that underperformed-like say, Resident Evil 6-but actually truly bombed. ![]()
